What Phase 3 is All About
Dr. Simeons, in his original manuscript on the HCG Diet, laid out the simple task for the Phase 3. The goal he stated was to keep the weight you reached on the last day of the 500 calories diet so that body remembers it. The whole idea is for your body to realize that this new weight is there to stay and so body would start protecting that new weight from going up or down too fast.What he explains is that your weight can go up or down up to 2 pound, and that’s ok, but no more than that! And if you succeed in keeping it within this narrow band for 3 weeks – you’re all set and the weight is yours to keep!
Just to make the point totally clear – do you remember having a certain weight during a specific period in your life? And being amazed that after you ate a lot, the weight still came down to the „normal“ after a day or two? And on the other hand, no matter how hard you tried to lose weight, the body didn’t want to go much below what it considered „regular“ weight and so returned to that stable weight once you were done with a short diet or gym exercises?
So we’re after setting up the new stable weight plateau for your body. And we need to keep it within this narrow band of plus or minus 2 pounds from your last weight measured during the 500 calories diet.
